"Love and Rockets guitarist Daniel Ash had quietly released one of the best collections of music in his career. Stylistically, Ash's four-song EP It's a Burn Out resembles the heavier moments of Love and Rockets, but is certainly equal to anything that the group ever put out."

-- Jef With One F in Gothtopia, Inquiring Minds

The Houston Press takes a look at the newly released EP of Daniel Ash, covering everything from its stylistic impressions to the online marketing, and Ash's future plans as a musician.

You can read the full story here, but we'll leave you with the overall impression from Jef With One F:

"The end product is as sweet as sex in a hammock, and the perfect way to end what is really four songs of pure Goth perfection."

Amazon user reviews Nelo's "Two Years Ago" - check it out!

4 out of 5 stars
SOMETIMES A LITTLE BIT GOES A LONG WAY...TERRIFIC EP

"Sometimes a band tries to fill a 40-60 minute CD before they get their music released. In the case of NELO, they chose the motto "its not the quantity but the quality that counts". (This may not be their official motto but it could be.)

I heard one track of this album (the one titled "Love Solution") on a promo sampler and was hooked and wanted to hear more. Upon getting the full CD (its an E.P with 5 tracks - plus a "hidden" sixth (instrumental) bonus) I was hooked for nearly 23 minutes with the music and the production values.

The title track is radio ready and should be on every college radio playlist. The song "2 Years Ago" is another standout. The lead singer on all the tracks - Reid Umstattd - has a great rock group voice with Matt Ragland providing backing vocals. Ragland wrote all the songs here and, if there is a weakness, its in the lyrics which serve more as part of the melody than standing on their own. I read the lyrics to all of them - they are printed on the album - numerous times and still was unable to get a message. But the "music is the message" here and the lyrics fit beautifully as part of the sound. And you'll be singing along the choruses with the band even on first playing (and probably tapping your feet as well.)

As they say good things often come in small packages. And, in the case of this album, its definitely true."
